Biography

Sarah has vast experience within the Musical Theatre Industry firstly as a performer and then more latterly as a Choreographer, Director and Teacher. She is pleased to be able to offer her experience and expertise in this field to the Trinity Laban students and looks forward to being involved in the development of this exciting course.

Since leaving college Sarah has performed in Anything Goes with Elaine Paige and John Barrowman at the Prince Edward Theatre, Sugar Babies with Mickey Rooney and Ann Miller at the Savoy Theatre and Cabaret with Wayne Sleep and Toyah Wilcox at the Strand Theatre all in London. She was pleased to be asked by Emmy award winning Michael Smuin to assist him on the 1995 production of Mack and Mabel at the Piccadilly Theatre also in London where she was also the resident choreographer and was responsible for restaging various versions for This Morning, The Lawrence Olivier Awards and The Lottery show. She has also done UK tours in Cabaret and My Fair Lady. Theatre work also includes The Russ Abbot Madhouse at the London Palladium and several Pantomimes.

She has appeared extensively on television. Her appearances include the Lawrence Olivier Awards (1996, 1990)(ITV), Queen Mothers 90th Birthday (BBC), Rumpole of the Bailey (ITV), Dark Angel (BBC), Tales of Sherwood (CENTRAL), Tanya the Musical (BBC), Carrott Confidential (BBC), Birds of a Feather, Eastenders (BBC), May to December to name but a few and has featured in commercials for Hitachi, Carlsberg, BSB as well as dancing in videos for recording artists such as Robert Palmer and Bonnie Tyler.

She has also performed all over the world in numerous trade, fashion and hair shows.

Qualifications / Educational Background

Sarah trained at the Bird College in the 1980's.

Teaching Experience

She is currently a permanent member of staff at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance teaching ballet on the Musical Theatre Degree Course. She also teaches freelance classes and workshops at a number of schools and colleges. She taught and project managed productions for 8 years at the Reynolds College of Performing Arts  included Hair (Dir/Chore 2010), Pippin (Choreo, 2007), Smokey Joes Café (Dir/ Choreo, 2006), A Chorus Line (Choreo, 2005), and Sweet Charity (Choreo, 2004) as well as teaching all subjects.  Since 2008 she was given the prestigious role of Production Coordinator and was responsible for all productions at Reynolds. Before teaching at Reynolds she taught for ten years at the Liz Burville Dance Centre and for two years at the Italia Conti School of Performing Arts and at the Millennium Musical Theatre College. She has also been a guest teacher at The Bird College, Elmhurst Ballet School, The Centre, Hammond School, the Merseyside School of Dance and Drama and at the Mountview Theatre School.
