About Lucas
Lucas holds a BSc (Hons) Podiatric Medicine (First Class) from
University of East London, is an MSc Dance Science candidate, and
is a fully registered podiatrist with the Health Professions
Council (HPC) (Registration number CH31841). He has full
professional indemnity insurance via membership of the Society of
Chiropodists and Podiatrists. Lucas also provides podiatry at
Siobhan Davies Studios, for John Lewis Partnership, and within the
NHS.
Lucas has a previous background in dance and a current clinical
interest in dance podiatry. He recently collected the President's
Award for Poster Excellence at the 2011 International Association
for Dance Medicine and Science (IADMS) Conference in Washington,
USA for a research project entitled "The effect of ballet slippers
on plantar pressure parameters during a vertical ballet jump in
male dance students". He is a member of IADMS and is registered on
the DanceUK practitioners' list.
Lucas is qualified in Functional Fascial Taping®, a taping
technique developed by Ron Alexander at the Australian Ballet.
Functional Fascial Taping® is a method of applying tape that can be
a fast and effective analgesic, allowing for activity and
rehabilitation and facilitating patients' early return to work.
