Graham Fitkin's brilliant 9-piece band was joined by massed musicians and dancers from Trinity Laban in creating a huge site-specific event to open the Southbank Centre's Ether Festival. Curated by Fitkin, with music (Part 1) ranging from Machaut and Gabrieli to La Monte Young, Arvo Pärt and Trinity Laban composers, the evening moved from promenading multi-ensemble installation to surround-sound concert (Part 2). The music in Part 2 was infused with Fitkin's own gypsy tinged high energy work and resulted in a spectacular premiere for all performers.
