Dame Margaret Price
Dame Margaret Price graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (then Trinity College of Music) in 1961. She quickly became an international opera star performing with many companies, including the Royal Opera in London, The Metropolitan Opera in New York, Cologne Opera and the Bavarian State Opera in Munich. She worked with some of the most distinguished conductors of her time, performed regularly at Glyndebourne and was a renowned concert soloist. Dame Margaret Price was awarded a CBE in 1982, and received a DBE (Dame of the British Empire) in 1993. She is considered one of the greatest prima donna sopranos of all time.
