Biography

Fiona Kelly completed her BMus at Trinity Laban in 2009 with Anna Noakes and then went on to study for her Master’s degree at The Juilliard School in New York where she won the Juilliard School Flute Competition. Fiona won First Prize in the British Flute Society Silver Jubilee International Competition, the Royal Overseas League Sussex Prize and First Prize in the Trinity Soloist's Competition. On winning the Royal Philharmonic Society's Julius Isserlis Scholarship, Fiona became an RPS Young Artist. She has played concertos with Trinity Symphony Orchestra at St. John's Smith Square and Blackheath Halls and with The Locrian Ensemble at St Martin-in-the-Fields. She was a second flute deputy with the New York Philharmonic and she is now principal flute with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra. She has performed as guest principal flute with English National Opera, RTÉ Concert Orchestra and the Irish Chamber Orchestra. She has performed concertos with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra, Irish Chamber Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland and she made her Lincoln Center debut with the Juilliard School Symphony.
