Laurence Garratt

Biography

Laurence Garratt graduated in 2011, with a First Class Honours BMus (Hons) Jazz degree. Since graduating, he has played with leading jazz musicians including Peter Churchill, Bobby Wellins and Liane Carroll. He has played in the West End musical Wicked and has appeared at the London and Oslo jazz festivals. Laurence is also a keen educator and has run projects in association with the Notivate Trust and Youth Music, as well as working as an assistant tutor for both the National Youth Jazz Collective and the International Summer School. Laurence has been playing bass with Jamie Cullum's band since October 2013, touring all over the world. They supported Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden and performed at the BBC Proms in 2016. Laurence has also performed with Joe Stilgoe on his UK tour and at Ronnie Scott's for his Christmas shows in 2016.

While at Trinity Laban, Laurence was supported by a TCL Choral Scholarship.
