Peter Gn

Choreographer

Dance

My postgraduate studies in Choreography at Trinity Laban had a deep impact on my professional development and continues to inform my artistic practice and official work today. I benefited immensely from TL’s educational support, gaining much from a well-conceived programme, excellent dance facilities and teachers with skill, passion and heart.

Biography

Peter Gn (PhD) studied dance at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (UK), Victorian College of the Arts (Australia), and University of Roehampton (UK). He is Senior Specialist (Dance) at the Ministry of Education in Singapore, where he offers support to schools in the implementation of Dance as a co-curricular activity. He does this through developing resources, providing consultancy and professional development for dance teachers, and establishing strategic partnerships with arts institutions and corporate agencies in Singapore and abroad. As choreographer, Peter’s body of work for theatres, sports arenas and national events has moved between spectacle and interdisciplinary art. His creative methodology is based on a combination of Release Technique and Improvisation. He has led performance projects, seminars and workshops for both professional dancers and dance students in Singapore and abroad. Peter is the founder of The Presence Project, a project-based contemporary dance ensemble that performs interdisciplinary work.
