An ephemeral piece of live dance streamed to your home.

A moment to share and perform and an opportunity to create a live experience you can enjoy.

On 16 March we made the decision to cancel our upcoming performances due to the spread of Covid-19. The tour van was packed and our production team were ready and we had to break the news to the dancers and crew.

We managed to present two previews and five shows before the lockdown and whilst we worked over the summer to try and reschedule, we realised this wasn’t possible as lockdown went on. We then approached the company dancers and asked if they would be interested in us bringing in a choreographer to work with them throughout autumn on a new work. Although some Transitions Dance Company dancers were unable to commit, four confirmed and we opened up the creative process to three graduating BA3 students to create a piece with TL Associate Artist, Theo T J Lowe.

A message from TDC General Manager Lee Bamford:

David, Amanda, Sara and I felt a responsibility to acknowledge the fact that the TDC dancers’ journey within the company was cut short through no fault of their own and wanted to offer them an opportunity we were able to provide – to work on a new creative process in the studio with Thēo and allow them to physically engage with how they felt returning to a studio following five months of lockdown and online classes.
