Biography

Lillian Willis, of North Carolina, USA, holds a BA cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in Dance Performance, Choreography, and Theory, where she also worked as Movement Mentor from 2017-2019. Lillian has studied on multiple scholarships at The Taylor School and The Martha Graham School in New York City. An award from Orsolina 28 enabled her to study Gaga movement research in Italy in 2018. She has performed works by Paul Taylor, Martha Graham, AGA Collaborative, Kim Jones, and George Faison. She is the recipient of a 2019-2020 Short-Term Research Fellowship at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts and presented writing at the inaugural Dance Studies Association conference in 2017. Her choreographic work people like that was presented by North Carolina-based Arts Access in 2019.
