Sophie Annen

Biography
Born in Switzerland, Sophie obtained a BA in Contemporary Dance at Zurich University of the Arts. Whilst studying, she worked with choreographers including Emanuel Gat, Gregor Zöllig and James Cousins, performed on international stages, and worked on cross-disciplinary projects combining disability, video mapping and acrobatics.
After graduating, Sophie furthered her artistic research at the Vertigo International Dance Program in Israel, where she performed a restaging of Noa Wertheim’s The Birth of the Phoenix and Idan Cohen’s Orfeo ed Euridice.
Sophie has been generously supported by the Mercer’s Arts Award and the Trinity Laban Dance Award for her MA Dance Performance studies.
