Yakira’s artistic practice is deeply concerned with humanity. It is about connecting people through dance, with emotion and intimacy at the core, crafting work that communicates skilfully through expression and connection. In this piece, a driving energy pervades the stage carrying the performers on a nonstop journey along which support and motivation are key. They move swiftly, scooping each other along, travelling on and on. Music specially created by long-term collaborator Sabio Janiak accompanies this simple yet mesmerising piece.

Influenced by his training in classical ballet and martial arts, Chappell’s signature movement style is one of fluidity, technical articulation and earthiness. The inspiration for this piece for 8 dancers originates from a favourite childhood novel and manifests here in a full-bodied, animalistic physicality. Albert Dean's sound score frames the themes of community, fear, loss, common bonds, violence and migration.

In his first collaboration with Transitions, renowned Finnish choreographer Jarkko Partanen organises the performers in such a way as to allow them to act, understand and continue only through touch. It is a tender exploration of the human condition in finding connection, commonality and individual expression. It is at times bizarre, comic and poignant.
