Frequently asked Questions

Where is the Girls & Young Women in Jazz Day taking place?

It takes place at Trinity Laban’s Faculty of Music, located at King Charles Court, Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich SE10 9JF. For information on where to find us please visit the Directions page.

How long is the day?

Registration will commence at 09.30h, with activities commencing at 10.00h and ending at 16.30h.

Can you let me know about accessibility?

King Charles Court is fully accessible and the course is open to disabled participants. We want to ensure a warm welcome to all so if you have any special requirements, it would be helpful if you discussed them in detail with us beforehand. Please contact us on 020 8305 4454 or b.ismay@trinitylaban.ac.uk.

When will I know that my place is confirmed?

When you apply for a place through the online booking form, an automated receipt is generated and sent to you. Places are strictly limited, and will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. We will aim to confirm your place within 4 weeks of receiving your form. If the project is not able to take place, we will let you know by the end of May 2020. You will be emailed a full participant information sheet a few weeks before the day itself.

Do under-18 participants need to accompanied by a parent/carer or teacher throughout the day?

Once we confirm your place on the project, we will send out a registration form in which you will provide emergency contact details, any relevant medical information, and can choose to give permission for the participant to leave the building unaccompanied during lunch break and at the end of the day. We will sign-in and out participants across the day, and supervise all those under-18s who have not been given permission to leave the premises unaccompanied. In other words, under-18 participants do not need to be accompanied during the day.

If I am a school teacher with a group of students who I would like to book into the day, can I accompany them?

Yes, that is possible. If you wish to bring up to 5 students please fill out a booking form for each student, and put your details down as the contact for each. Once we confirm applicants’ places, we will contact you directly to ask you if you want to accompany and supervise your group, or whether you would like us to do so. If you wish to bring more than 5 students, please contact us first on 020 8305 4454 or b.ismay@trinitylaban.ac.uk.
