Learning and Participation (Dance) at Trinity Laban have worked in collaboration with Kaleidoscope to ensure that young people of all abilities can benefit physically, mentally and emotionally from creative dance, and through the on-going engagement and support of staff, ensuring that this activity resonates in future activity at the centre.
Kaleidoscope is the first project of its kind on such a scale in the UK. It exists to provide services for local children and young people whose health, education or social needs are special. Kaleidoscope brings together specialist community services for health, disability, mental health, education and social care – all working closely with the Voluntary Sector.
Trinity Laban has worked with the physiotherapists at Kaleidoscope to deliver a weekly creative dance programme. Although this programme has now finished, Young People from Kaleidoscope are regualry sighnposted to Trinity Laban’s Dance Ability Classes where they can continue to dance with speicialist support.
