Biography

British pianist Catherine has a busy and diverse schedule of accompanying, chamber music and orchestral playing. She collaborates with several instrumentalists and singers in recitals around the UK and abroad.

Her debut CD, songs of Robert Burns with soprano Jillian Bain Christie was released in 2015 and they spent the summer of 2016 touring Scotland which included an appearance in Burn’s cottage in Ayr and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Catherine was involved with the London Children’s Ballet production of Nanny McPhee and plays orchestral piano and percussion with orchestras across London and the South East. She has recorded for BBC Radio 4 and appeared on Blue Peter with the National Youth Music Theatre. She worked as répétiteur for a number of Gilbert and Sullivan productions and took part in the Tête a Tête Festival, London in 2012.

Catherine completed her post graduate diploma studies in piano accompaniment under Eugene Asti at Trinity Laban, previously with Philip Fowke and Deniz Gelenbe. She has participated in masterclasses given by Graham Johnson and Roger Vignoles, and won 2nd prize in the John Kerr English Song competition with soprano Felicity Hayward, winning also the 18th Century Song Prize and the Audience Prize.
