Biography

Kim has danced with several globally recognised ballet and contemporary companies and productions, including the Bavarian State Ballet, Wayne Sleep’s World of Classical Ballet, Wayne McGregor’s Random Dance Company, Matthew Bourne’s Adventures In Motion Pictures: Swan Lake (World Tour) Ballet Ireland, Moving Art A Nordic Dance Company, Wildfire, Oslo Danse Ensemble, Traveling by Molly Molloy, Les Ballets Trockadero, Jules César with Opéra de Lille, Song of the City Akademie, Street Dance the Movie, and many more.

Qualifications And Background

 

 

Teaching Experience

As a dance teacher, Kim has taught ballet, contemporary, and barre à terre technique (studied with Jaqueline Fynnaert in Paris) for ballet and contemporary companies and colleges across the UK and internationally. Such companies and organisations include: Moving Art A Nordic Dance Company, Matthew Bourne’s Adventure In Motion Pictures, Random Dance Company, The Place, Murley Dance Company, Colin’s Performing Arts, Masters Performing Arts College, London Studio Centre, Pineapple Dance Studios, Central School of Ballet, Oslo Danse Ensemble, GDT (Free daily classes for Professional Dancers, Norway), Baardar Performing Art Academy, and Central School of Ballet.

Kim currently teaches at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, D&B Academy of Performing Arts, Kingston University, and Dance East’s Centre for Advanced Training (CAT).

Qualifications and Educational Background

Kim Amundsen trained at Oslo National Academy of Dance and Heinz-Bosl-Stiftung / Ballett-Akademie der Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich. In 2012, he graduated from The Royal Academy of Dance with the Professional Dancer’s Teaching Diploma (PDTD).
