Gianfranco Biasiol

Biography

Italian-born Gianfranco Biasiol has been active as a performer and composer in various contexts. He is involved as a dance class musician, working for prestigious institutions in London, such as Trinity Laban, Royal Academy of Dance and The Place. He collaborates with various dance artists, including Tatjana Samuele Ban and Anna Valpreda, and he has also worked as a musical director, studio producer and tutor. Gianfranco has appeared on stage throughout Europe, as a soloist and with other artists. He took part in many events, including Jazz Fest Wien (Austria), Musincanto Festival (Italy) and Art Dance Performance (Croatia). His music has been published by various record labels, such as Tauri Publishing (Italy) and Putumayo World Music (New York). His productions have been used in dance performances and in soundtracks, including the movie Soldati di Pace by Claudio Bonivento for RAI TV Productions.

Qualifications and Educational Background

Gianfranco studied at Giuseppe Verdi Conservatoire of Turin, where he achieved the Piano Diploma in Performance, and attended the course of composition with Ivan Fedele. He learned sound engineering and computer music, and completed the jazz piano courses with honourable mention at Centro Professione Musica in Milan, with Franco D’Andrea. His activity and research brought him to interact with a variety of forms and cultures, including classical music, pop, folk traditions and improvisation.
