Join our creative Saturday dance classes from home!

Our exceptional teaching team are excited to be delivering weekly digital classes on Saturdays from our Laban studios via Zoom.

Activities are designed for small, home environments. Children explore their creativity, develop their body awareness, musicality and expression guided by our expert teachers. Everyday household items may be used as props within a session. Children need active parent/guardian support to participate. Siblings and family members will be encouraged to join in and dance together.

Participants will need access to a computer or tablet with video and sound to participate.

For participants aged 11-18yrs, you may also be interested in our digital Dance Classes for Young People.

FAQs

Does my child need to have been previously enrolled on the Children’s Programme to join the Digital Dance Classes?

No. Our Digital Dance Classes are open to anyone who wishes to join, including those on the waiting list for our normal studio based classes, and new families.

My child is enrolled on the Children’s Programme, previously attending normal studio based classes. If we do not book the Digital Classes, will my child loose their place on the normal programme?

Our Digital Dance Classes are for a limited time only, until it is safe for all programmes to return to the studios.

Participating in Digital Dance Classes will be on a first come first served basis. This will not relate to enrolment in our normal studio-based classes.

My child is on the waiting list for the Children’s Programme. If we join the Digital Dance Classes, will they be offered a place on the normal studio based programme when it is able to restart?

Due to limited capacity on the Children’s Programme, when we resume our studio-based classes priority must be given to those currently enrolled. We cannot guarantee when places will become available, as this is dependent on the movement of our current students. We will contact those on the waiting list as soon as a place becomes available on our normal programme.

Can my child do a taster session before booking a block?

Yes. Weekly Taster Sessions are available to book on our online shop if you have not previously joined our digital dance classes.  If your child wishes to continue after their Taster Session you may book the remainder of the block on our online shop after the class.

Please note that as classes are bookable on a first come-first served basis we cannot guarantee availability, even if your child has attended the taster session.

Are the Digital Classes refundable?

We are unable to offer refunds for our Digital Classes.

What equipment is required to participate in Digital Classes?

Participants will need access to a computer or tablet with video and sound to participate in our Digital Classes, along with a stable internet connection.

What measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of my child during the Digital Class?

Following booking participants will receive a password-protected link to their zoom class and further information, including class protocols and safeguarding measures. Only pre-booked participants will be admitted into the Zoom class through a ‘waiting room’ function. Classes will be supervised by a Teacher and Assistant throughout

Activities will be designed for small home environments.

What do we need to do to prepare for Digital Classes?

Prepare a safe space at home to move in that is free from obstacles such as wires/cables, furniture, rugs, unfixed objects, with a smooth floor. Ensure you are dressed appropriately for moving in loose comfortable clothing, have a bottle of water nearby, and the room temperature is appropriate for dancing.

Children will need active parent/guardian support to participate.

Everyday household items may be used as props within a session. We will notify you in advance to gather any specific items ready to dance.

When will normal studio based classes resume?

We hope to resume our studio based programme as soon as it is safe to have our participants and their families from all programmes back in our building. We will communicate with all families that would be re-enrolling in the studio based classes when it is clear that we are able to re-open in our usual format.
