Develop your knowledge and practical skills, and produce your own dance event or project together with your peers.
Our Learning and Participation (Dance) team is working with up to 20 young people aged 14 to 19 years old who have a passion for dance, as part of Trinity Laban's Young Dance Ambassador scheme.
The programme develops creativity, leadership and communication skills.
Young Dance Ambassadors participate in weekly sessions focusing on arts project management, teaching and leading skills and how to produce arts events. Working with Learning and Participation (Dance), you will develop your knowledge and practical skills before putting them into practice with your peers to produce your own dance event or project.
All Young Dance Ambassadors will work towards a Silver Arts Award, a qualification which supports you to develop as an artist and arts leader. You learn to work independently and prepare for further education and employment in the arts. Arts Award can help you get recognition for your artistic achievements and enjoyment of the arts.
The scheme began with an induction session on Wednesday 11 October, leading up to a two-day intensive on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 October. Participants are now expected to attend weekly sessions on Wednesdays through to the Summer term 2018. There will also be other events and requirements outside of these session times including some weekends. There is no fee to take part in this scheme.
Please be aware that priority is given to Lewisham residents.
