Who is this project for?
The project is aimed at Year 9-12 students studying music and/or the performing arts, including those with a particular interest in singing.
How will the project run?
Across June 5 to July 3, Trinity Laban will schedule 2 1hr-long visits from a West End Musical Director and vocal trainer, to help your students learn the song(s) they will be performing. We will allocate your group a piece from The Wiz, Little Shop of Horrors, or Grease.
The performance will take place on July 6 at Laurie Grove in New Cross, SE14 6NH, home to Trinity Laban’s Musical Theatre department. Your students (performers and audience) will be able to attend either:
Option 1:
Rehearsal: 11:00-11:45
Concert: 12:00-13:00
Option 2:
Rehearsal: 14:00-14:45
Concert: 15:00-16:00
We suggest a minimum of 6 students get involved in learning and performing their song, out of a maximum of 25 students (including the performers) invited to observe the final rehearsal and concert. As part of the concert, Trinity Laban students will perform a range of contemporary genres, including the GCSE Music set works Defying Gravity and Little Shop of Horrors.
The full experience will cost £200 per school. Applications for this project will be open shortly!
