A professional development opportunity for vocal leaders.
Join music therapist and vocal coach Phoene Cave and respiratory physiotherapist Adam Lewis for a 3 day intensive training to equip you with the skills to lead singing for lung health.
Tuesday 16th – Thursday 18th April 2019
Laban Building, Creekside, London SE8 3DZ
09:30 – 17:00 each day
We are looking for community choir leaders, vocal teachers or music therapists confident in group leading to develop their skills in the growing area of singing for lung health.
You will be an experienced singing leader, with a core repertoire which can be taught by ear, simple breathing and vocal warm-up exercises and a basic knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the voice.
You will receive specific training in physical warm-ups, breathing exercises, appropriate repertoire and relaxation techniques tailored to those living with a lung condition.
Singing has been shown to have a positive impact on people living with a lung condition, greatly improving their physical and psychological wellbeing. Increasingly, vocal leaders with the skills to lead singing for people with lung conditions are being sought to work with health services to deliver this important work, particularly in London.
Accommodation is not provided as part of the training. The Ibis Hotel in Greenwich offers affordable accommodation and is just a ten minute minute walk from the Laban Building.
Trinity Laban Alumni: £170
