A new dance company
/ for a new age
Building on the legacy of Transitions Dance Company (the first ever conservatoire dance company) we are introducing TLDC as a new company for dancers to discover their individual artistic presence within the professional dance and arts ecology.
From Autumn 2023, a new company of dancers will be formed each year, with members selected through a highly competitive international selection process. Some dancers will be recent graduates; others may already be working as professional artists. Together, they will represent some of the most talented performers in the world today.
As a company member, you will come together to research, create and perform a broad programme of contemporary dance works by specially commissioned national and international artists. Works by established innovative dance makers will sit alongside those of exciting newcomers. Cultural and political narratives will be explored and shared to reinforce reflective practice and your lived experiences. This collaborative process will give TLDC members the opportunity to broaden and develop their embodied technical and performance skills in a challenging, inspiring and contemporary context.
Graduates of Trinity Laban’s MA/MFA Dance Performance programme have gone on to work in a wide range of roles in the dance industry. Some have established their own companies; others have worked with internationally acclaimed companies such as Company Wayne McGregor, Akram Khan Company, DV8 Physical Theatre, Protein Dance, and Punchdrunk.
The activities of TLDC are framed within a stimulating Master’s programme that equips students with the knowledge, skills and experience they need to succeed in the profession.
