Trinity Laban recognised as a world-leading specialist provider

Mon 12 December 2022

We are delighted to have been recognised once again as a “world-leading” specialist provider by the Office for Students

Trinity Laban has persistently challenged the parameters of our art forms, reimagining the possibilities of elite artistic training. This has been recognised in successive reviews by government bodies. We are immensely proud to retain our “world-leading” status as an exceptional contemporary conservatoire, with a distinctive voice and valued position in the international conservatoire sector and wider arts world.

We are 1 of 20 providers to receive allocated funds following a diligent review of submissions from 44 specialist institutions.

To determine which providers would receive funding, the OfS asked each to demonstrate “a level of quality and expertise (in a subject area) that gives a provider an ongoing reputation internationally as being among the finest in the world.”

Trinity Laban Principal Professor Anthony Bowne comments: Trinity Laban is not only recognised globally for advancing the art forms of music and dance, but also for our commitment to providing a springboard for talented students to push their creativity beyond its limits. Together with our students, we create true innovation on a global scale. We are thrilled that our work to train and inspire students at the highest level will continue as a result of the Office for Students’ decision to continue funding Trinity Laban as a world-leading specialist provider. We are very grateful for this funding at a time when the country faces significant challenge and recognise that there are brilliant institutions that have not received funding this time.”

The decision by the Office for Students is a testament to the quality of our teachers, international artists and professional support staff. Vitally, the review also acknowledges the exceptional contribution our alumni make in influential positions across the globe, positively changing the cultural landscape.
