Kate Durrant

Kate is a teaching artist for Public Engagement. She teaches on a variety of programmes, including classes for adults and workshops for schools.

Kate Durrant is an experienced dance educator working with children and young people through to adult learners. She started her career as a performer working with a variety of artists and companies such as The Royal Opera, Sol Dans Company, Turbulence Dance and Rough Cut Dance Theatre. Following this Kate moved into teaching full time in 2011. Kate teaches across the community, vocational, and pre-vocational sectors, facilitating sessions in contemporary technique and creative dance. She is a passionate advocate of using dance as a tool to build skills for life, going beyond the dance studio. Kate incorporates coaching tools to empower; creating fun, safe and courageous environments to learn and dance in together.
