Kezia Abuoma

Kezia Abuoma

Kezia Abuoma is a London-based pianist and composer. An alum of Tomorrow’s Warriors and student at Trinity Laban, she has made her mark on the contemporary jazz scene both as a bandleader and sought-after sidewoman.

Kezia has performed on some of the world’s most iconic stages, from Ronnie Scott’s and the Jazz Café to The Vortex and Dizzy’s Club at New York’s Lincoln Center. Her trio, SULA – featuring Miranda Radford (drums) and Aleks Dimitrova (bass) – comprise three unique voices that perform original compositions and other music inspired by the energetic, contemporary sound of Kris Davis, Kenny Kirkland, and Jeff “Tain” Watts. Together, they have performed at the King’s Place, Battersea Jazz Festival, Jazz Re:freshed, and the Southbank Centre. Kezia is also a key part of the ensemble Ankora, performing at Love Supreme Jazz Festival, We Out Here, Cheltenham Jazz Festival, and Brick Lane Jazz Festival.

Kezia’s performances feature her original compositions inspired by the likes of Geri Allen, Herbie Hancock, and Wayne Shorter, alongside fresh, inventive interpretations of jazz standards and other works — all delivered with a distinctive voice that marks her as one to watch.
