Animate
Animate offers young musicians in school years 5 to 13 opportunities to play together and create their own music in a ‘young person’s orchestra for the 21st century’.
Animate courses are fun, sociable and musically adventurous, bringing together young people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and musical interests, with specialist tutors and world-class musicians as mentors.
Projects take place in school holidays or weekends, and range from introductory 1-3 day local courses to more intensive projects and collaborations with other art-forms.
Through Animate we aim to inspire young people through creative music projects and opportunities to perform alongside world-class professional musicians. We want to represent the diverse talents and ideas of children and young people giving artistic input into the music they make and perform and create a progression route for motivated and talented young musicians to support continued instrumental learning.
She has now taken part in quite a number of different music projects over the last 5 years and Animate is definitely her favourite. It’s not only the creativity musically, but also artistically, that is always inspirational for her. She comes home with her head full of ideas. The quality and complexity of the work the children create is always amazing
