Tarika Ingram

Tarika has over 20 years experience of teaching and facilitating dance. Born and brought up in India, she started doing ballet, modern dance and jazz at a young age at The School of Classical Ballet and Western Dance. Years later, she started assisting and teaching the classes and discovered her love for teaching younger children and introducing them to the world of dance.

After moving to the UK, she trained as a Dance Movement Psychotherapist, then chose to create a career as a dance artist instead, using the invaluable tools she picked up during her training in her dance sessions.

Tarika currently teaches for Trinity Laban and has also worked at The Place, RADiate at the Royal Academy of Dance, Artis Foundation, Montage Theatre Arts and several other organisations and schools. She enjoys the variety of working in mainstream schools and SEND schools as well as in settings with older people as the mix of these experiences create joy in different ways.

Some of Tarika’s roles also involve mentoring other practitioners, a role that she thoroughly enjoys as it feels like a natural way of giving back to the dance world. She also enjoys spreading her love of dance / movement and the arts by developing and delivering work for online platforms.

Outside of dance, Tarika enjoys cooking, going for walks, watching movies and spending time with her family and friends.
