Dr Naomi Lefebvre Sell and Dr Lucía Piquero Álvarez have been announced as the new Co-Editors of Choreographic Practices, by Intellect. They will be taking over from the previous Co-Editors Dani Abulhawa, Simon Ellis, Lee Miller and Amaara Raheem.
Choreographic Practices explores the expanded field of choreography, exploring work at the borders and edges of what is known, understood or assumed. The journal emphasises creating a social movement practice which privileges the sharing of creative processes. It focuses on work that pursues the articulation of choreography in all its facets, social, cultural and/or psychological, and which situates itself in a world that is redefining art, identity, and practice. The relevance and the place of dance in the wider world, where is choreography visible and where it can make an impact, arguing for a responsibility to wider concerns, is key to the scope of the journal. Dialogues, visual essays, documentation, interviews and debate are encouraged as well as more traditional formats, and we welcome submissions throughout the year.
