One Dance UK Awards 2026 shortlist announced

The National Centres for Advanced Training (CATs) in Dance, Chess Dillon-Reams and Joss Arnott Dance have all been shortlisted for the One Dance UK Awards 2026.

The One Dance UK Awards are an annual celebration for people from across the dance sector to unite, celebrate, acknowledge and reward the people who have made an impact on the vibrant UK dance landscape. Back for an eighth year, the One Dance UK Awards 2026 will take place on Saturday 7 February in Bradford.

Among the shortlisted nominees are The National Centres for Advanced Training (CATs) in Dance, which have been nominated for The Dance Changemaker Award. The National Dance CATs are a network of 10 arts organisations – including Trinity Laban – which provide world-class pre-vocational training to young people aged 10–18 with a passion and aptitude for dance, regardless of their personal circumstance or experience. The Dance Changemaker Award recognises bold, brave and impactful work that has driven progress, improving access to dance for all, and champions diversity and inclusion.

Chess Dillon-Reams, who is herself a graduate of Trinity Laban’s CAT programme, has been nominated for The People’s Choice Award, which recognises an individual or organisation that has made a significant contribution to the dance industry throughout the last year. This award is decided by the public. Chess co-founded multi-award winning, critically-acclaimed, comedic dance-theatre company The Hiccup Project. Her works have been presented at Brighton Fringe, The Place, Mac, and Brighton Festival. Driven by human, social themes and real life experience, Chess is inspired by work that seeks to connect to audiences regardless of their prior experience of contemporary dance or theatre.

Among those nominated for The Bob Lockyer Award for Digital or Content Creation is Joss Arnott Dance, a company founded by Trinity Laban alum Joss Arnott in 2010. The company prides itself on bringing new audiences to contemporary dance through Arnott’s bold choreographic language that has been described as “exquisite to watch” by The Stage, and “the perfect tonic for British contemporary dance” by londondance.
