Singer-songwriter Bee Bran has been awarded the Maia Dave Scholarship joining a global network of emerging female artists. She will be studying on our BA (Hons) Music Performance and Industry programme.
Bee Bran is a singer, songwriter and producer from London. She has been developing her eclectic alt-pop style for several years now, continuously being inspired by artists such as Lorde, Kate Bush, Fiona Apple and Charli XCX. She combines raw lyrics, electronic sounds, and unique vocals to create an ambient yet powerful feel to her music.
Founded by award-winning creative technologist, product designer and musician Manon Dave, the Maia Dave Scholarship Fund supports the next generation of women in music globally and is championed by world-leading artists including will.i.am and Trinity Laban Honorary President, AR Rahman.
Bee said: “It’s really easy to feel overlooked sometimes as a woman, especially in production, so when I found out I’d received the scholarship, I was really surprised and happy. It means a lot. I’m excited to get to know all the other women who have been awarded this scholarship, and I think it’s an amazing cause.”
