Supersonics

Supersonics are music performance workshops for primary school classes. These interactive sessions are designed to introduce Key Stage 2 pupils to the magical world of live musical performance. Priority is given to schools in our local boroughs of Greenwich and Lewisham.

Supersonics sessions are led by students from Trinity Laban’s Faculty of Music as part of their degree studies. Students are supported by a project tutor from among Trinity Laban’s pool of professional music leaders. For each school visit, we can offer two interactive concerts of around 45 minutes, each aimed at 20 – 45 students.

Workshops can link into a school’s Wider Opportunities / Key Stage 2 Whole Class Instrumental Learning and are designed to complement the National Curriculum, helping children to hone skills in listening and appraising music and to encourage instrumental learning.

Sessions often have a particular focus on an instrument family or genre. Previous sessions have included brass, strings, jazz, wind, keyboard and voice workshops.
