Fiona is Interim Head of Brand & Communications at Trinity Laban and joined the staff in 2016.

She has over 30 years’ experience in marketing, communications and public engagement within the arts, higher education and the charity sector. Her career includes roles at the British Museum, the Courtauld Institute of Art and the Crafts Council. She has worked on national and international partnerships with organisations including the V&A, Saatchi Gallery, King’s College London and Classic FM. She was a board member of the Greenwich Music Hub, a mentor for the Arts Marketing Association and is currently involved in voluntary marketing and fundraising for local community organisations in South East London.

Fiona holds a BA (Hons) & MA in History of Art from the Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London, and a CIM Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from London Metropolitan University Business School.

Junior Trinity Horn Teacher

Eddie is a professional horn player and teacher specialising in horn, natural horn and Wagner tuba. A freelance performer with extensive orchestral, brass and chamber music experience, Eddie has performed at major UK venues and festivals and regularly performs with Oompah Brass. At Trinity Laban, Eddie teaches French horn at the Junior Department.

Ian is a highly experienced music educator, conductor and multi-award-winning composer. He joined the DL staff in 2020, following a career leading music departments in maintained and independent schools.

Andrew studied conducting and orchestration with Denis McCaldin at Lancaster University and with Peter Stark at Trinity College of Music where he graduated with distinction and won the Ricordi Conducting Prize. Notable work has included Stockhausen’s rarely performed ‘Gruppen’, an appearance with the National Youth Orchestra Sinfonietta and the critically acclaimed ‘Medousa: A Miniature Opera’ for which he was composer and musical supervisor.

Irish tenor Eamonn Mulhall enjoys a sustained performing and teaching career. He has sung at some of Europe’s most prestigious opera houses, festivals and concert stages, including La Fenice Venice, Edinburgh Festival, Palau de la Música Catalana Barcelona, Teatro Carlo Felice Genoa, Wexford Festival, National Theatre Prague, English National Opera, Opera Rara Kraków, Royal Ballet and Opera Linbury, Irish National Opera and National Theatre London. He trained at the Royal College of Music and the National Opera Studio.

Alice Munday is the Sub-Principal Oboe of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, a position she has held since 2015. She previously spent eight years as Sub-Principal Oboe with the BBC Philharmonic, and before that, spent a year performing as a member of the National Orchestra of Malta.

Alice graduated from Trinity College of Music in 2002, where she studied under Tess Miller and Jo Lively, before completing postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music under Chris Cowie, Celia Nicklin, Dougie Boyd, and Jonathan Kelly. Now returning to her former college, the present-day Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, as Oboe Professor, her teaching draws directly on her extensive professional career, focusing on preparing students for the technical and practical demands of the orchestral profession.

Janet Munro studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RCS)  and the Royal Academy of Music supported by a Scottish Arts Council scholarship. For many years she worked as a professional singer with several different companies including Kent Opera and the New D’Oyly Carte Opera Company as well as giving premieres at the Bush Theatre and Edinburgh Fringe. She also performed extensively in this country and abroad as a recitalist  before returning to study at Middlesex University and the Institute of Education.

Janet has a special interest in supporting aspiring professional singers and has given presentations on vocal health in collaboration with Dr Patricia Holmes at the Reflective Conservatoire Conference and the International Symposium on Performance Science in Reykjavík. She also gave a presentation on Repertoire through Voice Change at the Pan European Voice Conference in Copenhagen. She is  involved mentoring singing teachers, first working with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music on their professional development programme and more recently collaborating on the development of the Essentials online course for the Association of Teachers of Singing. She is the vocal lead for  the Certificate of Teaching for the European String Teachers Association.

Zjana Muraro is a contemporary dancer, choreographer, and researcher whose work explores the intersection of somatic practice, choreography, and emerging technologies. Originally from New York City, she began her professional performance career at an early age, dancing with Hartford Ballet, Joffrey Ballet Ensemble, and Cleveland Repertory Project.

Her performance and collaborative work spans concert dance, commercial stages, and experimental media. She has performed alongside artists such as Shaggy and Chaka Khan, and worked on interdisciplinary projects with Sonic Youth, interactive media pioneer Scott Snibbe, and film director Harmony Korine.

Dominic Murcott is a composer, curator and educator whose work encompasses a wide range of activities. His compositions often combine acoustic instruments with digital media or theatrical ideas and is as enthusiastic about working with amateur musicians as professionals. Two recent projects are released on nonclassical, including the award-winning percussion duo The Harmonic Canon.

Dan is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and platinum-selling recording artist from Ireland. He teaches songwriting on the BA Music Performance and Industry (BAMPI) programme and the Master’s in Songwriting at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. He plays guitar, piano, harmonica, didgeridoo and dobro.

Composer, conductor, and improviser Olivia Murphy is an innovative and colourful artist, with her music hailed as “some of the most exciting large ensemble jazz emerging from the London scene today” (UK Jazz News).

Her main focus is large ensemble composition, and she has performed with her jazz orchestra at venues and festivals across the UK including Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Birmingham Symphony Hall and Pizza Express Jazz Club (London). Murphy has been funded by Help Musicians and the PRS Foundation and awarded the Musicians’ Company Eddie Harvey Award for jazz arrangement.

Murphy is also a resident Musical Director for the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, and has been commissioned to write for and work with various educational institutions such as Cambridge University, University of Birmingham, Merton Music Foundation, and her works have been published by the ABRSM.

Ayshen is a teaching artist for Public Engagement. She teaches on a variety of programmes including classes for youth, adults, and creative health.

Ayshen a.k.a. Icy Ice 54 is a Freelance Dance Artist and practitioner who has been teaching in Academic and Community settings across London for over 16 years. Ayshen is the Artistic Director of Dynamic Eclipse Arts (D.E Arts), founded at Roehampton University in 2003 while studying her BA (Hons) in Dance Studies. Ayshen is currently the Lead Choreographer at NewVIc College, leading the colleges’ Dance Company NDC.

Ayshen has created a technique style called D.Eology, which is a combination of Contemporary and Hip-hop foundations, with influences from different culture dances surrounding her while growing up and training.

Ayshen is passionate about community dance, outreach projects and #SupportingTheArts either by working behind the scenes and working closely with schools, colleges, artist and local companies to promote dance and well-being from a grass root movement. Ayshen works in a creative way to deliver fun, high-energy, accessible dance sessions / workshops to all ages and abilities, while pushing themselves and learning about the movement and music in the session.

Aleksandra started her musical education in Warsaw, Poland. Having won the III International Chopin Competition in Budapest at the age of 16, she was given opportunities to perform extensively in France, Poland, Hungary and Spain. In 2010 Aleksandra received a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Professor Christopher Elton. She went on to pursue a postgraduate degree in performance and research with professor of piano Hamish Milne, which she completed with a distinction for overall outstanding studentship.

Peter Nagle joined Trinity Laban in 2014 and has worked across the Composition, Jazz, Keyboard, and Wind, Brass and Percussion departments, as well as completing a PhD in Creative Practice in 2024. His practice encompasses improvisation, alternative tunings, drone and loop textures, electronica and movement, often in multi- and trans-disciplinary contexts. His research interests revolve around identities and approaches in transdisciplinary collaboration, and ambiguity and uncertainty as aesthetic strategies. He teaches on the Dance, Film, Narrative and Artist as Entrepreneur modules and is an academic supervisor on the MMus programme. He has also acted as a staff governor since 2022.

Déarbhaile Nairn is Project Manager for the Children and Young People’s Music Programmes at Trinity Laban. She oversees a range of key initiatives including the Trinity Laban School Concert Series, Animate projects, Battle of the Bands and the Young Musicians’ Summer School. Déarbhaile joined Trinity Laban in 2018. Déarbhaile brings valuable experience in working with musicians, having previously been the Artist Development Manager at Sinfonia Smith Square, and in particular young musicians, across all musical genres, from her time as Producer at national music education charity, Music for Youth. Beyond her role at Trinity Laban, Déarbhaile serves as a trustee for Lewisham Education Arts Network.

Hilary’s teaching methodology has evolved into a multi-layered construct, which has strongly been influenced by her studies in Psychology and Pilates. The issue of body – mind integration in the learning process of dancers is at the centre of her approach. In essence, she places great emphasis on sound embodiment of movement principles to enhance technical and artistic excellence, but strives to create a learning environment that acknowledges “the essence of movement as means of expression that could reverberate on a much deeper level in terms of the well-being of the individual”. Hilary currently enjoys teaching master classes and is actively pursuing her interest in dance health and psychology by attending conferences and workshops arranged by Dance UK, IADMS and the Pilates Foundation.
