Kit performs solo pipe organ and solo piano concerts – and also plays in collaborations with saxophonist Tom Challenger, cellist Lucy Railton, composer Shiva Feshareki and with the band ‘ENEMY’. He is also currently working with violinist Aidan O’Rourke, composer Max de Wardener and in an organ trio with Reinier Baas and Jonas Burgwinkel. He also teaches at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he himself studied and now holds a Fellowship.

Andrew has worked with orchestras and ensembles on three continents. These have included some of Europe and North America’s renowned ensembles, notably on recordings with orchestras such as the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Royal Flemish Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Philharmonic Orchestra, with conductors such as; Nicholas Harnoncourt, Bernard Haitink, Esa Pekka Saraste, Marin Alsop, Sian Edwards, Krzystof Penderecki, Daniel Harding and Edward Gardner.

While in Canada he performed on radio broadcasts with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, including taking part in a South American tour with Kent Nagano. He was also invited to perform on the ‘Star Noel’ CD with colleagues from Montreal.

Recent solo and conducting performances have included North American premieres, and Luciano Berio’s Sequenza X. Andrew’s own conducting work has involved many world premieres of works for Brass ensemble or Wind Orchestra, having been mentored in the latter by the famous conducting pedagogue Dr Timothy Reynish.

Formerly Chair of Brass and Professor of Trumpet at McGill University – Schulich School of Music – Montreal, Andrew has organised master classes and collaborations with world-class artists in Brass, Wind and Percussion.

Andrew’s research interests cross-pollinate solo performance with performance health and pedagogy. Currently working on a PhD in the STEM faculty at the Open University, Andrew is investigating instrument design and playing physiology in closed end wind instruments. He was awarded an ARAM in May 2013 by the Royal Academy of Music for services to music.

Malcolm’s love of many different styles of jazz has made him a versatile performer as well as a distinctive voice on the UK Jazz scene. In 1989, after studying at Exeter University and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, he joined the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, occupying the lead trombone chair for two years. He has since performed with a variety of artists including Kenny Baker, John Dankworth, Henry Lowther, Martin Speake and Liam Noble. His debut album Lyric Trombone (1996) received wide acclaim – including encouraging words from American trombonist Jimmy Knepper, one of Malcolm’s major influences. He has also worked with soul artists Ronnie Spector and Martha Reeves and has twice toured with Bryan Ferry, featuring on two of his albums As Time Goes By, and The Jazz Age. More recently,  Malcolm has performed widely with the acclaimed Basin Street Brawlers and Three Way Stretch, a trio which also features Liam Noble and Dave Wickins, and draws on a wide range of jazz styles to achieve it’s unique sound. Their album I’ll be Seeing You (2020) is dedicated to the memory of the late Dave Wickins.

As a vocalist, Malcolm has developed a distinctive swinging style and an exciting approach to scat singing. Things are Looking Up by VoxCity5 (2007), features Malcolm’s original arrangements for two voices and rhythm section. The line-up includes fellow vocalist,  Nia Lynn and pianist Barry Green. His next release (due out  Autumn 2020), features Malcolm’s vocals  backed by a quartet, all of whom are graduates of the Trinity Laban Jazz Course and now well known names on the UK jazz scene: Leo Richardson (saxophones), Chris Eldred (piano), Conor Chaplin (bass) and Douglas Marinner (drums).

As a strength and conditioning specialist for dancers, Khyle works to provide specific prehabilitation and performance enhancement training strategies to support dancers in training and performance, helping to establish a high athletic capacity to support genre specific technique and reduce physical limitations to creative work. His research looks into the athletic development and competency of dancers.

As a performer, Khyle has performed internationally with numerous makers and companies; working with STREB Extreme Action, Dance Theatre of Ireland, Upswing Aerial, Generating Company, Luca Silvistrini, Arthur Pita, Liam Steel. Khyle is also creative collaborator, maker, choreographer, and rehearsal director in dance theatre and musical theatre genres. He has worked extensively with British Youth Music Theatre; and Rachel Birch-Lawson, touring their work internationally.

Becky also has a choreographic moving image practice, which seeks to deepen the screen application of dance practice. The choreographic concerns of the rhythm, pattern and dynamic flow of movement, are combined with a documentary practice to produce works that are a hybrid of the observed and the constructed. Her short films and installations have been shown at film festivals internationally. She was artist in residence at both Videodanza BA in Argentina and SHOOT Dance for Camera Festival in Sweden. Her feature documentary Turn Your F***ing Head was published by Routledge in 2014.

From 2010 to 2015 Becky worked in collaboration with fellow artist Lucy Cash under the company name of straybird, a platform for co-curated and co-directed projects. straybird developed and produced a number of innovative projects including the curation of the What If… and What Matters festivals at Siobhan Davies Studios, Small Matters and Stray Gifts (to be claimed by whoever shall find) at Dance Umbrella, two films for the Siobhan Davies Space (Seven Ways South and Walker), as well as What Matters, a short documentary for Arts Council England, which was shown as the opening film at SOTA 2012.

Becky teaches screendance and moving image practice at a range of instituions and is an associate artist with Blast Theory.

Composing and arranging work includes: BBC, Born to Perform foundation, Capital Radio, How sweet it is (Motown show), Katy Setterfield & North Star Music amongst many others…

Theatre work: Anything Goes, Chess, Dames at Sea (Monaco), Grease, Joseph, Kingdom of Song, Me & My Girl, Peter Pan, Rocky Horror Show, West Side Story. Musical director for Newpalm Productions including 16 years (1993 – 2007) as their musical director at the Civic Theatre in Chelmsford.

Sam graduated with a First in Jazz and Contemporary music in 1991 from the City of Leeds College of Music.

Recent career highlights include the performance of her choir work, The Crazed Moon at Spitalfields Music Festival and Three Choirs Festival; the commission and premiere of a work for the Carice Singers at Cheltenham Music Festival; being selected for the Cheltenham Composer Academy; and the premiere of her chamber orchestral work, Fluidity, at St. John’s Smith Square, by Orchestra Vitae.

Effy has won numerous awards to create and produce her work, including from PRSF (Women Make Music), Arts Council England, National Lottery, Wellcome Trust, Hinrichsen Foundation, Vaughan Williams Foundation and the Playground Studio, to name but a few.

As an experienced multimedia artist and devisor, she has developed many multimedia stage works in collaboration with artists from the fields of theatre, film and dance. These works have been hosted by Kings Place (which have programmed three evening-long performances of her work), Handel Hendrix, Tête-à-Tête Opera Festival, Riverside Studios and The Royal West of England Academy, to name but a few. The works themselves have involved collaborations with high-profile organisations, such as the Wellcome Trust, ACE, University College London and PRSF.

Effy lectures in Composition in higher education settings, including long-term engagements at King’s College London and Trinity Laban. She has been a guest lecturer at the University of Cambridge.

Effy holds a PhD in Composition from King’s College London, which she undertook under the supervision of Sir George Benjamin and Prof. Silvina Milstein, with a full scholarship from the Arts and Humanities Research Council. Her music is published by Edition HH.

Her career in dance has deeply informed her work as a therapist. Kate holds an MFA in Choreography from the Ohio State University, an MA in Dance Ethnography from Gallatin University /TISCH in New York City and a BA in English from Bowdoin College in Maine, USA.

Alongside her clinic hours, Kate continues to work as a dancer, choreographer and teacher, combining her two passions through research. Kate’s practice is informed by her career in dance and her own experience of receiving a wide range of treatments within that time, she feels the two practices feed one another and create further curiosity about the performing artists’ body.

Next followed work with BalletBoyz and Rambert Dance Company, shifting into contemporary dance. He was particularly inspired by the work and technique of Merce Cunningham and also appeared in works by Christopher Bruce, Doug Varone, Mark Baldwin, André Gingras and Aletta Collins. He started choreographing while at Rambert. The first piece What Rainbow? was performed at Resolution (The Place). As a choreographer, his works have been commissioned by English National Ballet, Transitions Dance Company and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

He is currently an associate artist at The Print Room in London, under the Artistic Direction of Anda Winters. Works include Jealousy (2012), and the critically acclaimed Elemental Trilogy, Flow (2012) and Ignis (2013).

Deeply committed to education and transmission, Daniel serves as Timpani Professor at Trinity Laban, where he is keen to pass on his experience and knowledge to the next generation of musicians. While focusing on preparing students to meet the artistic, technical, and psychological demands in professional performances and auditions, Daniel aims to nurture accomplished, dedicated, self-confident and expressive young artists.

In parallel, Daniel also serves as Timpani and Percussion teacher at the Guildhall Young Artists’ Centre for Young Musicians and has served as a regular guest Timpani and Percussion teacher at the Junior Royal Academy of Music.

Also a composer, Daniel’s first chamber music works were performed in 2011. In 2016, he performed his own adaptation of Maurice Ravel’s Gaspard de la Nuit for piano and percussion, the fruit of a creative collaboration initiated by the pianist Hao Zi Yoh. Now primarily writing for piano, percussion, and orchestra, Daniel has in recent years strived to develop a simple, clear and consistent music style.

A graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, Daniel previously studied at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris, the Paris 8 University, the Conservatoire Paul Dukas in Paris and the Conservatoire d’Asnières-sur-Seine.

She has taught for Trinity Laban, The Royal Ballet School, Urdang, Arts Educational Schools London, London Children’s Ballet, The Academy for Theatre Arts and Darren Ellis Dance.  She received the Lisa Ullmann Travelling Scholarship in 2008 to deliver dance workshops to under privileged children and young people in La Paz, Bolivia. In September 2014, she was awarded a place on Dance UK’s Teacher Mentoring Program. Lucy co-founded her own dance theatre company ‘Anecdotal Evidence’ with William Aitchison in 2013 making work that uses text and movement.  Other choreographic commissions for young people include creating ‘Fair-e-Tale’, a professional work for E.dance that toured schools in the North of England, as well as receiving commissions to create work for young people from U Dance, PrimarySteps and the Unicorn Theatre.
