A graduate dance company that offers a bridge to the professional world while you study for a Masters. Students have the chance to experience life in a dance company, where they will work with innovative choreographers and artists to create new work, touring their repertory in the UK and overseas.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and its affect on touring dance companies, this programme will not be running in 2021/22.

EDGE
EDGE is a postgraduate performance company that offers students a programme of creative investigations under the direction of professional choreographers from a range of backgrounds. The company creates a repertoire of work which it tours nationally and internationally.

 

MA CONTEMPORARY DANCE PERFORMANCE

Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD)

VERVE, the postgraduate company of NSCD
VERVE dancers are enrolled on a one-year full-time programme leading to an MA in Contemporary Dance Performance. The company tours to venues and festivals across the UK and internationally.

MA Contemporary Dance Performance (Professional Placement Scheme)
This one-year, full-time programme provides an opportunity for students to undertake extensive professional development and refine their skills as a performer, whilst being an apprentice with a professional dance company.

 

MA PERFORMANCE: DANCE

University of Chichester

Mapdance

Mapdance operates as a professional company with daily technique classes and rehearsals. From mid-February to May, the company tours nationally and internationally whilst also offering educational workshops. This course offers dance graduates as well as dance artists the chance to undertake a Master’s Degree or Postgraduate Diploma.

 

MA PROFESSIONAL DANCE PERFORMANCE

Rambert School & Rambert Dance Company

Rambert2
Rambert2 is an ensemble created in partnership between Rambert School and Rambert Dance Company. Rambert2 dancers create and tour contemporary dance, while developing their individual creative and reflective dance practice, and gaining a postgraduate qualification – an MA in Professional Dance Performance, awarded by Rambert School and validated by the University of Kent. Dancers selected for Rambert2 will receive financial support equivalent to the London Living Wage to cover tuition fees and living costs. Dancers who are not eligible for the MA, or who are interested in dancing with Rambert2 and are eligible but do not wish to complete the postgraduate qualification, may instead undertake a year’s ‘direct membership’ of the Rambert2 ensemble alongside students on the programme.

 

MA DANCE PERFORMANCE AND PROFESSIONAL PRACTICES

Joss Arnott Dance / University of Salford

Emergence
The MA Dance Performance and Professional Practices programme is a professionally focused course (11-months), co-designed and delivered between Joss Arnott Dance and the University of Salford. Dancers become part of Emergence postgraduate dance company, who work with internationally acclaimed choreographers to produce a programme of new performance work each year. Emergence tour nationally each spring season.

 

MA ADVANCED DANCE PERFORMANCE

Dance City  / University of Sunderland

MA Advanced Dance Performance
A practice-based qualification that offers new and recent dance graduates the opportunity to develop their dance practice and technique, learn and develop choreography, and perform their work. The course has a unique focus on physical theatre and is designed to produce strong, highly employable dancers who will be able to work in a range of settings. MA participants will be part of a touring company, The Collective.

 

JV2: PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DIPLOMA

Jasmin Vardimon Company

JV2
Jasmin Vardimon Company’s JV2: Professional Development Diploma (non-accredited) is a highly practical programme for those who are hoping to pursue a career as a professional performer. The aim of the programme is to develop participants into versatile performers with skills in a range of performance disciplines. The programme runs from October – April / May (dependent on holidays) and is based in Ashford, Kent at the JV2 Space and associated studios. Open auditions are held for entry to the programme.

 

APPRENTICE COMPANY: SHECHTER II

Hofesh Shechter Company

Shechter II (a biennial programme)
Shechter II is the Hofesh Shechter Company professional development programme for 18-25 year olds. The programme offers an extraordinary proximity to the workings and practices of a major international dance company, working closely with renowned choreographer, Hofesh Shechter, and touring the UK and Europe with a recreation of his most renowned works, while at the same time providing the support and underpinning that ensures heightened professional readiness.
