Animate Artists X Bold Tendencies
31 Mar - 20 Jun 2026
Event details
Calling all creative and curious young musicians: get involved in Animate Artists’ latest exciting project, happening this Easter holiday, and beyond! Taking inspiration from the ecstatic and thrilling music of composer Olivier Messiaen, you will be collaborating with artists from Bold Tendencies, Peckham, to create an installation of sound and colour. This will then be presented as part of its 2026 artistic programme on the theme of ‘Euphoria’, alongside a performance Messian’s ‘Turangalîla’ by the Trinity Laban Symphony Orchestra in June.
When I hear music… I see inwardly, in my mind’s eye, colours which move with the music, and I sense these colours in an extremely vivid manner
– Olivier Messiaen
This project is part of Animate, Trinity Laban’s long-standing and hugely popular creative music-making programme. Bringing together young people from a wide range of musical interests and backgrounds, and guided by specialist tutors and world-class musicians, Animate courses are fun, sociable and musically adventurous.
