Beethoven Summit 2026: presentations, panels, and performances

The International Centre for Contemporary Music (ICCM) presents the Beethoven Summit 2026: the inaugural event in a series exploring trailblazers who redefined the parameters of musical expression.

An innovative blend of interactive panels, talks from world-leading scholars, and performance on period instruments, the summit is a vibrant, multi-dimensional celebration of Beethoven’s legacy. It explores how evolving scholarship inspires fresh approaches to the composer’s music and continues to influence its interpretation. The summit culminates in a concert of Beethoven’s 9th and Schumann’s Piano Concerto at Cadogan Hall. Directed by Programme Leader and Reader in Music & Cultural Practice Dr Christina Guillaumier, this unique conference promises to immerse performers, scholars, and music lovers in the groundbreaking sonic world of Beethoven.
