I Watched You Put Your Face Above Mine
This work is a raw, confessional exploration of the performers’ lived relationship experiences, supported by Hilda Doolittle’s 1917 poem “Eurydice”, which reframes the ancient Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice from a feminist perspective. “I Watched You Put Your Face Above Mine” asserts women’s power to create work that honestly confronts our pasts and honors the emotional weight of our shared experiences, asking how we can make sense of what we feel and have endured from men without being consumed by what we uncover. Using the poem as a choreographic and performative tool, a non-linear journey of struggle and healing unfolds, navigating emotional landscapes of grief, loss, anger, care, and acceptance.

Viewer discretion Emetophobia warning – spitting and simulated regurgitation will briefly be a part of this performance
Audience experience There will only be 25-30 seats in this performance space, and limited standing room. Attendees are welcome to stand for the performance, but they may become uncomfortable as it is around 40 minutes long

15:30 Sui Ming Chu, MFA Creative Practice: Transdisciplinary Studio 1, Laban Building (40 mins). @suimingchu
Fun “Ha”
Fun “Ha” explores the joyful connection between voice, music, movement, and embodied experience. Through singing, sounding, and moving, participants connect with their own organic, individual forms of expression, experiencing music not only through listening but also throughout the whole body. The work celebrates the innate human impulse to play, connect, and create, revealing music as a living, physical experience that resonates through movement, imagination, and shared creativity.

Audience experience Audience will be seated on chairs & beanbags. Maximum capacity x 30

16:30 Dayeon Oh, MA Dance Performance, Laban Theatre (15 mins) @Dayeon_creative

Ganggangsullae: Traces of Circle
A contemporary reinterpretation of Ganggangsullae, a traditional Korean communal dance, this work explores collective memory through movement. Six dancers translate stories, images, and historical materials into personal gestures, which are developed through repetition, sharing, and collaboration into a collective movement language. From the strength, protection, and solidarity of women during times of war to the joy, wishes, and celebrations shared under the full moon, the work explores how memory lives in the body and how communities connect across time through movement.
