International Women’s Day 2026: Women in the Groove/Siren Cycle
The programme starts at 18:30 with a pre-concert talk celebrating the enormous and sometimes hidden contribution women have made to the history of jazz.
At 19:30, directed by Jazz tour-de-force Andrea Vicary, Women in the Groove takes the stage. Blending dynamic improvisation, infectious grooves, and expressive new compositions, Women in the Groove celebrates the creativity, energy, and innovation of women in jazz.
After the interval Trinity Laban Jazz Ensemble perform Siren Cycle, composed and directed by award-winning composer, conductor, arranger and improviser Olivia Murphy (pictured). MA/MFA Dance Performance students bring movement to sound with a brand new dance work, developed in collaboration with choreographer Temitope Ajose.
Stay on for the afterparty with Jazz in The Bar at Blackheath Halls to bring our celebrations for International Women’s Day 2026 to a close.
