Jazz at Cockpit: Alto Summit (Breen and Jackson Quintet) + Calum Gourlay Big Band

Jazz at Cockpit is a concert series for jazz and contemporary music based in Deptford, South East London, operating out of Spring Café Cockpit.

Held the last Thursday of each month, the series is focussed on providing a space for young and emerging artists/ensembles to debut new creative projects. Hear new, premiered works by rising talents in the UK music scene, showcasing a wide variety of genres and influences and enjoy delicious vegetarian food and drinks available for purchase.

For the first instalment, Lauren Breen and Emma Jackson are hitting it off with an exciting Double Alto Quintet, paying homage to some of their favourite alto legends. They will be bringing original arrangements of tunes by jazz legends such as Vincent Herring, Gary Bartz, Phil Woods, Cannonball Adderley and Jackie Mclean. Joining them will be Louis Lodder on Piano, Freddie Canton on double Bass and Carter Harris on Drums.

They will be followed by Scottish bassist, bandleader and composer Calum Gourlay, with new sounds from his Big Band.
