KS2 Schools’ Concert: Revealing Ravel
Blackheath Halls
Wed 25 & Thu 26 Mar 2026
Event details
Join us to learn about Ravel and his magically colourful music! Guided by a presenter and featuring live orchestra, this is an ideal opportunity for primary school pupils to be immersed in the music of this enchanting French composer, and to discover how the different orchestral instruments paint colours and emotions through sound.
The concert will include ‘Le Tombeau de Couperin’, an orchestral suite of dance-like pieces written to celebrate the lives of soldiers lost in World War One. Alongside this there will be an exciting opportunity for primary school pupils to sing Ravel’s famous ‘Bolero’ melody with the orchestra, as reimagined by West African music icon Angelique Kidjo in her song, ‘Lonlon’!
As soon your concert booking is confirmed, we will send out easy-to-use teaching resources to help you learn the song in advance in your classroom. There will also be the opportunity to book a visit from Trinity Laban vocal students to inspire and help you with this. Before the concert, we’ll also send out further resources about the concert, with lots of tips for listening and background information on the orchestra and music.
