Trinity Laban A Level Music Day

Page Navigation

Event details

Visit Trinity Laban for an intensive and immersive day focusing on the composing and appraising aspects of the A Level music syllabus.

In the morning session, there will be the opportunity to hear A Level student compositions workshopped live by TL musicians, with feedback, and general advice on common themes and challenges, provided by our composition staff.

The afternoon concert will include excerpts from:

  • Poulenc – Trio for Oboe, Bassoon and Piano
  • Kate Bush – Hounds of Love
  • Piano music by Chopin, Brahms & Grieg (as featured in the AQA syllabus)

Our expert presenter Patrick Bailey will lead a focused analysis and exploration of the music, pulling out key musical elements, to support students’ learning in the classroom. Learning resources for all the set works featured in the concert will also be provided (as well as those from last year’s event). Across the day there will be opportunities to find out more about studying music at Trinity Laban, and talk to staff and students.

Both school groups and individuals can apply for tickets – at £5 per student – using our online booking form. This event is likely to be hugely popular, so priority will be given to applications received by 16 December 2025.

If any of your students would like to have their own composition workshopped, please let us know this on the form when you apply!
