Event details

Audition Applications are now open for TLYDC 2026/27!

See how to join for more information.

Trinity Laban Youth Dance Company is a performance company of creative, committed 12-18 year old dancers.

TLYDC works with guest artists and professional dance companies to devise and perform new choreography.

Company members meet weekly for company class and rehearsals.  In their weekly session company members warm up, learn and create choreography, rehearse and refine their performance skills.  Additional sessions to create work and perform take place across the year; with creative intensives typically taking place on a Sunday or during school holidays.

While TLYDC primarily focuses on contemporary dance, we also explore a range of styles. We encourage young people of all experiences and styles to play.

The best thing about TLYDC this year has been the friendships formed through learning and improving as dancers together, without any judgement from others, like a family.

TLYDC Company Dancer

Choreographer Tim Casson is working with TLYDC this summer term, exploring his choreographic style and past works, including The Dance We Made and Arcade. The project involves devising original choreography collaboratively and performing in non-traditional dance spaces.

During Spring Term 2026, TLYDC performed Current State by Hannah Joseph as part of Trinity Laban’s MA/MFA production Has the world changed or have I changed? An energetic work exploring reintegration and community.

During Autumn term 2025, the company worked with Gerrard Martin creating a new work Lumiere which was premiered at our Youth Dance Platform on Sun 14 Dec in the Laban Theatre.

Watch our dance film created in Summer 2025 by the company with choreographer Sara Dos Santos below.  The dance film was showcased at the U.Dance: London Regional Platform 2026.

I value the opportunity my child has to work with a range of dance teachers and professionals, learning different styles, techniques, and routines.

Experiencing the passion of dance on a wider scale and performing on stage is something they truly enjoy. Meeting like‑minded others, working as part of a team, building confidence, and staying fit and active through dance!
