Faye Tan is a Singaporean dance artist based in the UK. 

She has a decade of experience as a full-time dancer with repertoire dance companies National Dance Company Wales and Frontier Danceland, working with over thirty choreographers from all over the world as a performer and collaborator in new creations and restaged works. 

She has choreographed works for National Dance Company Wales, VERVE, INTOTO, Frontier Danceland, Centre for Advanced Training, Rambert School, House of Tengri, Dirk Stromberg and School of The Arts Singapore. She is currently developing her own work in collaboration with multidisciplinary artist George H. Wale.

Class description  

Each class will draw from my improvisation and physical practice and conclude with phrase work. We will work with principles such as clarity, curiosity, spontaneity, efficiency, risk, challenge, readiness, contrast, acceptance and indulgence. Expect an upbeat, energetic class with a focus on details, body awareness and function, and individual inquiry. 

Oona Doherty is a Northern Irish based Dance Artist. 

She studied at The London School of Contemporary Dance, University of Ulster and LABAN London and has a BA Honours and Post Graduate in Contemporary Dance Studies. She has been performing Dance Theatre internationally since 2010 with Companies such as: TRASH (NL), Abbattoir Ferme (BE), Veronika Riz (IT), Emma Martin/United Fall (ROI), Enda Walsh & Landmark Productions (ROI). 

She has been creating, collaborating and performing internationally since 2010. In 2016, she created her internationally acclaimed solo Hope hunt and The Ascension into Lazarus). In 2021 she received the Silver Lion from the Venice Biennale for her choreographic work. In 2024 she created Specky Clark, a series of theatrical images. Alongside her choreographic works, the artist develops site specific performances, visual arts and installations, presented at Higher Bridges Gallery – Enniskillen, 180 The Strand-London, Fumbally Gallery -Dublin, or more recently Kunstmeile – Hamburg. 

Her collaborations include turner prize winner Mark Lecky, Jamie XX, Lankum, Albert Moyer, David Holmes. Among others. 

Oona doherty will lead a class witch includes general body conditioning like yoga and fitness as well as some improvisation techniques on tone. 

BLUE MAKWANA is a London-based choreographer, movement director, rehearsal director and teacher whose work celebrates the highly technical and versatile skillsets many dance performance artists work tirelessly to possess. A former Sadler’s Wells Young Associate (2023–2025), Blue was commissioned to create work for the theatre’s main stage, studio theatre and digital stage. Her choreographic work has been presented at venues including Sadler’s Wells, Royal Ballet & Opera, Theatre Royal Stratford East, the Roundhouse, Greenwich Docklands International Festival, Disneyland Paris and leading higher-education institutions. Blue’s performance credits include, ‘WICKED’ and ‘WICKED: For Good’ the movies, Matthew Bourne’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ with New Adventures (UK + International tour), ‘Mandela’ the musical, Ed Sheeran & Paulo Londra, ‘Magic Mike’s Last Dance’, DFS, HOLLAND X GUCCI, Burberry, Dr. Barbara Sturm and ‘He’s Dead’ by Malik Nashad Sharpe. Within her choreographic and teaching practices, Blue is aiming to create and deliver work which honours technical dance training and displays versatility and fusion. 

Drawing inspiration from her versatile training and with a goal to keep form-based movement alive, participants can expect a class containing a concoction of classical, contemporary, jazz and commercial movement language. These classes aim to target, hone and refine technique, intricacy, musicality, performance and fusion.

Gerrard Martin is a London-based dance artist, choreographer, movement director, educator, and yoga teacher. His work explores connection, creativity, and well-being through dance and performance.  

He trained at De Montfort University (BA Hons), the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, and holds an MA in Choreography from Central School of Ballet. As a performer, Gerrard has worked with Phoenix Dance Theatre, Tavaziva, Ballet Black, Union Dance, Rosie Kay Dance Company, and in The Lion King (West End). He has also performed with English National Opera, the Royal Opera House, and the National Theatre.  

Gerrard founded Gerrard Martin Dance in 2011 to create emotionally driven, socially engaged work. His choreography has been shown at Sadler’s Wells, Tate Modern, British Museum, National Portrait Gallery, and international festivals in India and Greece.  

He teaches regularly at The Place and has worked with Mountview, Trinity Laban, RADA, and Central. As a movement director, credits include Black Superhero (Royal Court), CAKE (Theatre Peckham), and GHB Boy (Charing Cross). He was assistant choreographer on Porgy and Bess (ENO), One Love, and the UAE’s 40th Anniversary Show. He is currently associate choreographer on Stranger Things: The First Shadow.  

Gerrard co-founded Black Artists in Dance and Pathways House Collective, and continues to support inclusion, collaboration, and creativity in the arts  

Roseann & Sula are choreographers and movement artists based in South East London. Both originally from Scotlands central belt, they come together to create work that lives in a leaded yet tender landscape. They are founding members of Tough Boys Dance Collective, and have presented work across black box theatres, night clubs and sight specific spaces. 

Within their practice they continually question perceptions of high and low art, considering what accessibility looks like in the curent artistic climate. Working to establish a movement language that obscures traditional form, Roseann & Sula care about finding vocabulary that feels visceral and honest to the body.   

Pulling from phenomenological research, Roseann & Sula’s work is fundamentally about their human experience and its intersections with gender politics, Scottish identity, religion and class. 

Born and raised in Suffolk, Ed developed a passion for acting and dance before focusing on movement. He trained at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, graduating with a First in 2020, and went on to tour with Verve. Since 2021, he has performed and taught internationally, collaborating with companies and artists such as Avant Garde, Gecko Theatre, Hannes Langolf, James Cousins, La Horde, Northern Rascals, Bullyache, Attic Project, Mad Dog Theatre, and the Royal Shakespeare Company. Currently, Ed is in the Production ‘Equus’ directed by Lindsay Posner at the Menier Chocolate Factory.

This improvisation-based class invites dancers to move with meaning, clarity, and a sense of curiosity. Through guided tasks focused on musicality, characterisation, and emotional intention, we explore how to break out of familiar habits and open new pathways in the body. The session encourages mental unblocking-letting go of fear, judgement, and old patterns-so you can discover fresh textures, impulses, and narratives in your movement. Expect a reflective and playful environment where your individuality leads the way, and new doors of movement possibilities can unfold.

Andre is a Contemporary Dance Teacher, Creative Teacher and Tutor for the Centre for Advanced Training in Dance.

Before joining the faculty at Trinity Laban: Centre for Advanced Training as a Dance Teacher, André played Seaweed J Stubbs in Hairspray for The Grange Park: Pimlico Opera; and then simultaneously played Issachar in Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat at The London Palladium – alongside Alexandra Burke, Linzi Hateley & Jason Donovan – and most recently played Richie Walters in the Made At Curve production of A Chorus Line. During this time, André was headhunted to join the Faculty at Trinity Laban: Music & Dance, as a freelance choreographer and as a Technique Lecturer on their Honours Programmes.

Nadine is a contemporary dance artist, choreographer and movement director. Nadine graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance with First Class Honours in Contemporary Dance. During her training she performed works by Joss Arnott, Hubert Essakow, Sonia Rafferty and an excerpt of Sun by Hofesh Shechter. 

 She went on to study for an MA in Dance Performance, becoming a member of Transitions Dance Company under the artistic direction of David Waring and supported by the Headley Trust. Transitions Dance Company performed works by Karole Armitage, Marina Collard and Hetain Patel, touring them throughout the UK and internationally.  

Nadine ended her MA year on a high, performing the triple bill at Laban Theatre, graduating with a Distinction. She has choreographed and performed Surfacing, Resurfacing, a site-specific work at John Maine’s Arena, commissioned by The Courtauld’s MA Curating the Art Museum for their exhibition ‘Both Sides of Here’ as well as co-creating and performing ‘Landscape No. 8’ at Resolution Festival 2022. As part of Resolution 2023, she performed in ‘Gathering Clouds’ by Petronella Wiehahn and premiered her own work titled ‘soft surge’ – a contemporary dance work that she is continuing research for. In 2024, Nadine made ‘Hinge Girlband’ with Flux Projects, a short dance film created and filmed all within two hours that was then premiered at Flux Projects short film event at Close Up Cinema.  

Nadine has performed works by Julian Nichols for Bodies in Action Dance, Extended Play, Róisín Whelan Dance and IJAD. She has walked for fashion designer Izzy McCormac as part of her final collection at Central Saint Martins and performed for costume designer Freya Thomas Taylor, alongside Tough Boys Dance Collective, in ‘Rage Milk’ – a performance art piece. Nadine has also worked as co-movement director for the play ‘After Sex’ by Siofra Dromgoole, shown at the Arcola Theatre and as movement director for the fashion brand Ruby Hung as well as fashion film ‘Liminal Space’, which premiered on Nowness. 

 She has created movement for music artist Ormella and acted as assistant movement director for music artist Sarah Nimmo’s ‘Underground’. Nadine has also been involved in music videos for artists Cryalot, Rokia Kone, Henri, MAVICA, Bethannie Hare and Dua Lipa. 

She is a Gyrokinesis® Certified Teacher and teaches a regular professional level contemporary dance class at FieldWorks 

Finleigh Zack is a choreographer, director, and producer originally from the US and is now based in England. She is also the Artistic Director of Finleigh Zack Dance (FZD). FZD’s mission is to bring perspective, awareness, and inspiration to conversations around mental health through community-centred movement and performance practices. Rooted in movement, built on mentorship, and held together by community, the company creates space for expression, connection, and support across every facet of its work, giving voice to dancers searching for connection. Finleigh’s creative practice is influenced by collaboration and the balance between personal experience and diverse cultural perspectives. She approaches creation with mindfulness both in and out of the studio, prioritising care for both the physical and emotional body through artistic direction and collaborative processes with fellow artists. Finleigh received her BFA in Dance from NYU Tisch School of the Arts under the direction of Sean Curran and is a former member of WHITE WAVE Young Soon Dance Company and Second Avenue Dance Company. Her work has been performed and presented internationally, including at the Paris Olympics, Union Theatre, Chisenhale Dance Space, Gibney Dance Center, Center for Performance Research, and Boink! Dance Film Festival. 

Livia Massarelli is an international dance artist, meditation facilitator, and certified coach (Associate Certified Coach, ICF-accredited). Her work explores the integration of contemporary dance, embodied awareness, and performance presence, supporting dancers in developing their artistry while cultivating their well-being. 

She is the creator of The Mindful Dancer, a method that bridges physical training with meditation and coaching, offering a holistic approach to artistic and professional development. 

As a choreographer, she has presented her works internationally in venues as The Place (UK), Maison de la Danse (FR), and Jacob’s Pillow (USA), and has created works for Equilibrio Dinamico Dance Company, Unwired Dance Theatre, Institute of the Arts Barcelona, and other international contexts. 

She is Program Leader of the MA in Contemporary Dance Performance Equilibrio Dinamico Ensemble in Italy, validated by Northern School of Contemporary Dance. 

A contemporary class for professional dancers focused on building physical strength and artistry through set phrases, improvisation, group awareness, and musicality. Rooted in The Mindful Dancer practice by Livia Massarelli, it offers a playful yet focused environment where technique meets presence, and performance emerges through connection, listening, and embodied awareness.
