Biography
John Hutchings is Schools’ Instrumental Music Lead Officer for Essex Music Services, and an academic teacher for Junior Trinity. He studied at Royal Holloway, University of London, and held organist positions at Chichester and Lincoln Cathedrals before teaching in the independent and state sectors at Framlingham College, Attleborough Academy Norfolk, and as Director of Music at Headington School, Oxford. He teaches and coaches students for GCSE (Edexcel, Eduqas, and AQA), A level (Edexcel and AQA), and IB (Standard and Higher levels). His performing career has involved SkyTV, BBC radio, television, for the Music For Youth Schools’ Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, and St Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Windsor Castle, and on tour to Paris, Rome, and The Vatican; as a composer, his works have been performed at the Edinburgh Festival, the Choir of the World competition, and broadcast on the BBC and European television and radio.
