Biography

Pasha (Pavel) Mansurov was born in Russia and started playing flute at the age of 6. He moved to the USA where he studied with Dr Bradley Garner of the Juilliard School for the majority of his early teenage years. He then moved to the UK and attended the Purcell School of Music with a full scholarship where he studied with Clare Southworth. Later he won an audition to the Royal Academy of Music, where he studied with Kate Hill and Michael Cox on flute and Pat Morris on piccolo, graduating with one of the highest marks in the woodwind class. For his Masters,  he moved to the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, where he studied with Ian Clarke, Phillippa Davies and Sarah Newbald. His recordings include the motion pictures The Master, Alien: Covenant and Under The Skin. TV ads include Nokia and Sorapol Fashion, and he also appears on Rick Wakeman's Journey to the Centre of the Earth 2014 re-release.

Chamber music appearances include guest player with the Fugata Quintet and the Mercury Quartet and Pasha is a full time member of the London Contemporary Orchestra Soloists.

As an orchestral musician he has played with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, London Philharmonic Orchestra, and toured the far east with the Symphony Orchestra of India. Pasha is Principal Flute of the London Contemporary Orchestra and was Principal Flute of the Gorzów Philharmonic Orchestra in Poland in the 2013-2014 season.
