If education is about opening one's eyes to different worlds, and deepening our understanding of them, then Trinity Laban certainly did that for me. Without question it changed my life, through information, introductions and inspiration.

Biography

Emma Gladstone completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Community Dance in 1985 and was then awarded a scholarship to perform with Transitions Dance Company for a year. After graduating, she co-founded Adventures in Motion Pictures with Matthew Bourne and David Massingham. She performed for twenty years working with The Cholmondeleys and Arlene Phillips amongst others, before moving into producing. Emma presented performances for many partners including the Southbank Centre, The Place, Latitude Festival, Tate Modern, and the Young Vic. She was Associate Director at The Place Theatre and then Artistic Producer and Programmer at Sadler’s Wells and for over seven years Artistic Director and Chief Executive of Dance Umbrella. Emma focused on specific areas of programming including talent development projects in the UK and Europe, while continuing as Chair at Siobhan Davies Studios, and in Trustee positions at Aesop and Dartington Hall Trust. Emma died in January 2024.
