Trinity Laban Dance Summer School

Dance Summer School 2020

Mon 20 to Fri 31 July 2020

Are you up for an exciting dance challenge?

Join us this summer for our unique two-week summer school. It will be a fascinating, absorbing and unforgettable experience. Open to all levels, aged 16+.

Whether you’re an enthusiastic beginner looking to develop your skills or a professional dancer, we have a range of levels and classes to meet your needs. You can tailor your experience from a timetable that offers a lot of choice.  This year includes high profile dancers from Richard Alston Dance Company and Uchenna Dance.  Develop your core techniques in Contemporary and Ballet as well as other dance and movement practices such as Gaga/ Dancers and Gaga / People, Flying Low, Passing Through, Tanztheatre, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Feldenkrais into Improvisation, Contact improv, Yoga, Acro Yoga and Pilates. You can put together the timetable that’s right for you.  You can also explore dance through other lenses such as an introduction to Dance Science or explore how movement works in Choreological studies.

It’s a place that I really value, respect and trust.

So what is movement anyway? Discover the answers during this week-long choreology intensive.

The course is suitable for practitioners from different backgrounds and disciplines, interested in movement, choreography, acting, performance, and directing or teaching. It will significantly change and improve your creative practice.

  • Creating, performing and observing movement
  • Discussion and dialogue
  • An exploration of current developments of Rudolf Laban’s movement theories and their specific application to contemporary performing arts disciplines

No previous experience of movement analysis theories is required.
