Junior Trinity offers students the opportunity to follow a series of one and two-year academic courses in music leading to GCSE and GCE qualifications.

The courses are progressive and can lead through three years of study; however students can also begin a course at the AS Level of Advanced GCE Music, if they have appropriate qualifications and experience.

This thorough musical education involves the development of a range of academic disciplines, giving varied insights into performance, composition and the appreciation of music. Students also benefit from ongoing professional support and the opportunity to collaborate with their peers on the performance and composition modules of the examinations. The courses are an excellent foundation for any student who would like to widen their experience of the subject and are an ideal preparation for higher education courses in music.

Our results are exceptional

  • In the 2015 examination series, 92% of GCSE students achieved A* or A grades.
  • Over 90% of A level students achieved an A or B grade in AS and A2 Music and Music Technology in 2015.
  • In 2005 and 2006 two of our A Level students were in the top ten in the UK.

The courses are intensive. Classes take place on Saturday mornings and early afternoons for 2 1/2 hours (GCSE Music) or 3 1/2 (AS and A Level Music and Music Technology).

We also run an A Level Music distance-learning course

What our students say

“Studying Music Technology A Level at Junior Trinity gave me and others the opportunity to learn Sequencing and Sound Recording in top class facilities with great support from our teacher. It certainly helped me get a place to study Sound Recording at Uni. We all thoroughly enjoyed the course, whether or not we carried on the subject at HE.”
