Finding financial support for a short course such as the Dance Summer School is likely to be difficult, but that’s not to say it’s impossible.

This page provides information about places to look for extra funding and support towards Dance Summer School programme costs.

General Advice

It may be useful to approach your local council or borough’s art or culture department to find out if they have any funding available to support students in the arts. If you are 16-18 years old, some schools also have funds for development and could be worth contacting about support for the Dance Summer School.

When approaching organisations about additional funding, it is beneficial to clearly state what the financial support will be used for:

  • The Dance Summer School at Trinity Laban offers an intensive training experience for 2 weeks
  • The course is delivered by experienced practitioners from the Faculty of Dance and professionals from across the dance profession
  • Each technique is offered at different ability levels so that participants can choose a programme that suits their level of experience
  • There is a high number of international participants on the Dance Summer School each year. The mix of people from different cultures, dance training backgrounds, and different ages always makes for a very exciting and unique experience for dancers in training
  • We offer accommodation at an additional cost to the price of the course.

To strengthen requests for financial support and provide a personal touch, it is also recommended you provide a concise statement about you as a student, including why you are interested in dance, what you hope to get out of attending the Dance Summer School, and why the extra funding would be of use to your training.
