SuperSonics are music performance workshops for primary school classes.

These interactive sessions are designed to introduce Key Stage 2 pupils to the magical world of live musical performance.

This year, we hosted several sessions in Autumn 2023.  Applications will reopen in September for SuperSonics 2024.

SuperSonics sessions are led by students from Trinity Laban’s Faculty of Music as part of their degree studies. Students are supported by a project tutor from among Trinity Laban’s pool of professional music leaders.

Workshops can link into a school’s Wider Opportunities / KS2 Whole Class Instrumental Learning and are designed to complement the National Curriculum, helping children to hone skills in listening and appraising music and to encourage instrumental learning. Sessions have a particular focus on an instrument family or genre. Previous sessions have included brass, strings, jazz, wind, keyboard and voice workshops.

Priority is given to schools in our local boroughs of Greenwich and Lewisham.

To be added to our mailing list for future projects, or to discuss other ways in which your school might like to work with us, contact the Public Engagement team at: publicengagement@trinitylaban.ac.uk

Junior Trinity

Junior Trinity is a Saturday Music Department for 3-19 year olds. We were the first Junior Department of a UK Conservatoire to open its doors to schoolchildren on Saturdays in 1906. Since then thousands of young people have benefited from the opportunities to make music as individuals and in a wide variety of small and large ensembles. From Trinity Teenies aged 3-5 right through to university and conservatoire entrance, it is our aim to encourage a lifelong interest in music and to give our students the opportunities to develop to their maximum potential.
