A typical day runs from 9am – 5pm, with time for warm-ups, classes, workshops, breaks and lunch. Your week also includes an opportunity to see a live West End Show! At the end of the course, an informal performance event gives you the opportunity to showcase and share what you have created during your week.
Our dance classes will concentrate on performance/acting skills within musical theatre choreography and are fast-paced, in order to show the technique needed in picking up combinations quickly and overcoming nerves. Along with this, you will explore choreography from well-known musicals and choreographers.
This class will introduce you to the skills and techniques needed for acting within musical theatre. In acting you will cover improvisation, script work, character study as well as learning tricks and tips to approach audition material.
This class explores how to combine the skills of singing, acting and dancing for musical theatre. Learn how to create a full performance number from understanding the characters and story, learning the music and exploring the choreography before learning how to elevate your performance skills.
This class will introduce and guide you through the basics of Ballet and introduce new techniques to help you refine your skills with content that complements that of the general dance classes. Learn how to strengthen and control your body ready for performance.
The perfect classes for anyone who is planning to apply to drama school or brush off your skills for industry auditions. In these sessions you will explore solo performance work one to one with a tutor and discover how to effectively prepare for and present yourself in auditions.
Participants are requested to bring an audition song and a short monologue to work on during these sessions.
The Open Sharing is an informal performance at the end of the Summer School where you will present the material you have worked on over your week with us.
Participants are able to book 30 min or 1-hour optional ‘add-on’ consultation lessons in either singing or acting. These sessions (held during lunch or after course hours during the summer school) provide valuable one-to-one time with our industry professionals and are an excellent way to focus on a particular aspect of your individual development. To get the most from these sessions we recommend you prepare a song or monologue for these consultations and/or come prepared with questions. Optional consultation lessons are subject to an additional fee which is payable in advance.
