Our Musical Theatre Summer School tutor team consists of industry professionals and current teaching staff of Trinity Laban's Musical Theatre programme.
All tutors have established track records of working in a range of roles across the West End including musical direction, singing, and choreography.
I enjoyed receiving feedback from people who have worked in the Musical Theatre business. After the summer school, I felt more certain of my career choice, and even more motivated to pursue my goal of becoming a musical theatre performer.
What to Expect
The course has been created to give participants the experience of full-time, conservatoire musical theatre training and further establish practical skills, as well as a more informed understanding of the expectations of the genre. Participants can expect classes such as jazz dance, vocal technique, acting through song and audition technique. All of these classes will be used to develop confidence and communication within musical theatre and performance settings, with an emphasis on the integration of these skills.
The teaching was absolutely phenomenal...I didn’t want it to end!
2018 ParticipantTimetable & Content
We offer 30 min or 1 hour optional add-on consultation lessons in either singing or acting. This offers a valuable one-to-one session with our industry professionals during lunch breaks or after hours.
They challenged me to let myself go and focus only on the skill of singing and acting, which brought much more depth to what I was creating, and I felt like I had accomplished something at the end.
Meet Alumni and take a trip to the West End
You will have the chance to meet our talented alumni and work with our current BA Musical Theatre Students. In 2018, the group had the chance to meet West End performer and Trinity Laban alumnus, Zoe Rogers, for an informal Q&A session.
Additionally, as part of Take the Lead, all participants receive a ticket for a group outing to see a West End Show with the course leaders. In 2018, we went to see Young Frankenstein. Details about the 2019 West End Trip will be released in late Spring.
"It was super helpful and nice to have the alumni around because they are able to answer questions from a students perspective. It was really helpful and comforting to talk to them" 2018 Participant
